This statement is trying to tell us that doing things the right way with honesty and loosing is better than cheating and winning. If we do things the right way we will feel better than if we do things the wrong way. If you cheat you are just lying to yourself and others, but if you do things the right way then people will respect you and look up to you for being honest and fair. In the end if you cheat you will get caught and end up regretting what you did. So it is always better to loose being honest than to win by cheating.
